How to Use and Obtain QR Codes?

Using a QR code generator is a straightforward process. Here are the steps a user can follow to obtain a QR code.

  • Begin by entering the desired information into the input field. It could be text, URL, contact details, or any other data you wish to encode.
  • Choose the desired resolution for the QR code by selecting an option from the resolution selection dropdown. The available options typically include different sizes, ranging from 128x128 to 1024x1024 pixels. Higher resolutions generally result in larger QR codes.
  • Click on the "Generate QR Code" button. The QR code generator will process the input and generate a scannable QR code based on the provided information and resolution. Once click the "Generate QR Code" button, the output section will display the QR code. User can copy, download or directly scan it.

Example

Here is an example to generate a QR code for the URL https://srilanka-information-zone.blogspot.com:

  • Enter the URL https://srilanka-information-zone.blogspot.com into the above input area.
  • Select the desired resolution for the QR code. You can choose a higher resolution for better quality or a lower resolution to minimize the size.
  • Click on the "Generate QR Code" button to generate the QR code.
  • Once generated, the web application will display the QR code on your screen.
  • You can now save, copy, or download the QR code image. (Right click on the newly generated QR code and select your desired options such as “Open Image in New Tab”, “Save Image As…”, “Copy Image”, “Copy Image Link” or “Email Image…”)
Output QR as follows:
srilanka-information-zone.blogspot.com

The "Clear" and "Reload" buttons

The Clear button is useful when the user wants to remove the existing input and generated QR code from the interface. If you click the Clear button, the text entered in the input field will be cleared, and the QR code will be removed from the display area. This functionality allows users to quickly reset the interface and start fresh with new input without having to manually delete the existing content.

The Reload button is designed to reload or refresh the entire web page. This can be helpful when the user wants to generate a new QR code or reset the entire QR code generator interface. Clicking the Reload button will reload the page, clearing all input fields and any previously generated QR codes. It provides a convenient way for users to start the QR code generation process from the beginning without navigating away from the page.

Maximum Input Limitations

The maximum input capacity of a QR code varies based on factors such as the type of data being encoded and the version of the QR code. The maximum input capacity is typically measured in alphanumeric characters or bytes.

For numeric data (0-9), a standard QR code can encode up to approximately 7,089 characters. When encoding alphanumeric data (0-9, A-Z, a-z), the capacity decreases to around 4,296 characters. If the QR code includes binary or Kanji characters, the capacity further reduces to approximately 2,953 characters.

It is recommended to optimize the size and complexity of the encoded data to ensure reliable scanning.
