Dehiwala Zoo Museum: Comprehensive Information

The Dehiwala Zoo Museum is located in National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka. The museum is a small structure that exhibits remains of mammals, birds, reptiles and other members of animalia kingdom while National Zoological Gardens house living animalia.

Dehiwala Zoo Museum is good for pupils who can get closer look on remains and artificial figures. Skeletons, specimen of eggs, paw marks (footprint), specimen of excrement, feathers, skin specimen and preserved mammals and birds and other animals are notable in the museum. Skeletons of hippopotamus, giraffe and ostrich are notable items. Also, preserved bodies of white tiger, swan and siamong gibbon would get visitors’ attraction. 

People might miss to visit here since it is completely different to the zoo environment. It is easy to locate. First visiting section (Section No. 1) is aquarium and marine life. Once to visit the Section No. 1, you may visit the museum which is located behind the pool of seal.
