Why do you need to check?
Consumers should check the TRCSL approval when they purchase phone or any of devices that connect SIM(s) to cellular networks. Unregistered phone/device would deactivate and fail to connect with cellular networks in Sri Lanka.
This regulation is to prevent illegal and fake phones or wrong models that emit higher radiation and it can harm users.
A user has the privilege to do TRCSL registration check, and phone vendors cannot reject if customer is ready to buy. Also, customer can ensure TRCSL approval by checking registration number on the phone box. If not, consumer can ask vendor to clarify.
